The Big Gig at Hull Uni!

On Saturday 11th July, Hull Red, a Community Interest Company offering social opportunities to people with learning disabilities staged the first Big Gig event at the Hull University Union.

Having being invited to perform at the event, The Latecomers, Imogen Hart, The FRCA Collective, United Two and Emily Spelman took to the Acoustic Stage to offer their support in what was a wonderful event.

First up was the FRCA Collective who, fronted by Tyler, are beginning to develop into a neat group of young fledgling musicians who have broken away from the safety of the adult musician support with growing confidence..

Next were the ever improving Latecomers, who are now playing all over the City. The group have suddenly sprung onto the scene following the arrival of bassist Dylan and can be found gigging where ever there is an opportunity.

Emily Spelman, making a welcome return to the FRCA fold, performed next with the support of local legend Grayham Grasshopper, singing a short set which she will develop as we approach further festivals over the summer.

Singer/Song Writer Imogen Hart sang next with two original numbers that demonstrated the depth of her talent, and then, bringing to a close FRCA's input to the Big Gig, was the United Two. Danielle and Nathan are effortless and Danielle's vocals are simply incredible.

So now it's on to Humber Street SESH - Saturday August 1st - Check out the Youth Stage and catch all these acts and more!!
