NEWS 29 August 2015

Humber Street Sesh and Tribfest keeps us all busy!

Humber Street SESH (HSS), and Tribfest meant that August was a very busy and productive time for all involved with the music side of FRCA.

Running the Youth Stage at HSS and the Under 20's Marquee at Tribby, this year enabled us to provide a platform for over 40 young people to perform to a live audience and continue developing as artists.

HSS took place on August 1st and this year the Youth Stage was situated on the Marina; a site that ensured we had some healthy crowds to appreciate the talent on show.

From the Freedom Road Collective, a group consisting of young singers and musicians aged between 12 and 16, to The Latecomers, who are developing fast into a very competent and entertaining band; and from young people performing for the first time, to established acts performing under the FRCA banner, such as United Two and Elizabeth Pickering, HSS was brilliant for us all!

On 21st August, we moved over to Sledmere House and to Tribfest, for our 5th year of running the Under 20's Marquee.

Everyone looks forward to Tribby; a weekend away giving us, not only another opportunity to perform but to also the chance to enjoy being part of a festival atmosphere which includes camping over and Eggy Bread for breakfast!!

The sun shone almost all weekend, someone went to hospital courtesy of a Bumper Car accident (it wasn't serious and we were back within the hour), there was no sign of Garry and more importantly we witnessed yet again some cracking sets.

Thanks to all involved and in particular to Mak and Ed for having the vision to involve FRCA and the emerging young artists we support!
